2012 promises to be a tumultuous year in Washington, with all eyes on the November elections.   Amid the debates over budget cuts, the debt ceiling and spending priorities, it remains vitally important for the Congress to appreciate that water resources infrastructure projects are major building blocks of our nation’s economic security.

Register now to attend NWC’s 2012 Legislative Summit, March 27-28th in Washington, D.C., to hear from high-ranking Congressional and Executive branch officials and industry leaders about the policy and program expectations for the coming year.  Invited speakers include Senator Jim Inhofe, Ranking Member, Committee on Environment and Public Works; and Representative Bob Gibbs, Chairman, Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment.  Confirmed speakers include, from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mr. Steve Stockton, Director of Civil Works;  Major General Michael Walsh, Deputy Commanding General, Civil and Emergency Operations; and Mark Mazzanti, Director, Programs Integration Division.  Offering insight on the President’s proposed budget and the FY13 appropriations process will be senior staff from both the House and Senate Appropriations Committees, Angie Giancarlo and Roger Cockrell.  Additional speakers will be added in the coming days.   Now is also the time to schedule meetings with your Congressional delegation.

We look forward to seeing you in Washington.
