2010 Legislative Summit
Washington, DC
March 9-10, 2010
As the Congress convenes for the Second Session of the 111th Congress, 2010 promises to be a challenging year as we seek to ensure a reasonable and balanced approach to the multitude of significant issues facing the water resources industry. The legislative and policy changes currently under consideration by the Administration and the Congress are unprecedented in their scope and effect. At the forefront is likely to be a Water Resources Development Act. Other initiatives include the proposed sweeping changes to the Principles and Guidelines issued by the Council on Environmental Quality, a Clean Water Restoration Act, a draft Sustainable Watershed Planning Act, additional restrictions on floodplain management, and the need to find a long-term mechanism to fund the Inland Waterways Trust Fund.
Please join us for the 2010 Legislative Summit, March 9-10th in Washington, D.C., to hear from high-ranking Congressional and Executive branch officials and industry leaders about the policy and program expectations for the coming year.
Now is also the time to schedule meetings with your Congressional delegation. Given the fundamental changes these initiatives represent, it is critical now, more than ever, to let your Members of Congress know the enormous impact these changes could have on your businesses.
We look forward to seeing you in Washington, DC.
